The LG G5 is still over six months away, but a new rumour suggests it'll come with a brand new Snapdragon 820 processor and updated camera module.
According to a Mihai Matei, the new phone will come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor as well as a 20MP rear camera with a custom Sony 1/2-inch sensor.
It makes sense for LG to put the Snapdragon 820 on board – it's heavily rumoured to feature on at least one version of the Galaxy S7 as well as a host of other flagship handsets in 2016. It also makes sense to employ Sony's camera technology, it's one of the best things Sony does.
In it for the long haul
The source has given accurate information on the Apple A9 chip before as well as providing authentic details on chipset benchmarking, so he certainly knows his stuff. That said, he hasn't shared any solid information and all we have is his word so we'll take this with a pinch of salt.
LG's G4 proved to be a solid phone, but it was forced into taking the Snapdragon 808 processor after to the overheating issues within the Snapdragon 810.
You can understand why LG want the best of the best in flagship phones and it seems this year they're planning early to make sure it can happen.
